Many of you who have either attended last week’s celebrations in person, or who followed them via the livestream, know how special these days have been. In the upcoming weeks, we will post more photos and videos of the event.
For now, we would like to acknowledge everyone’s participation and good will over the last few weeks, and also share the impressive group photo of all the monastics present (you can see it in higher resolution here.)
Throwback
On a related note, The Meridian Trust’s archive has recently shared with us four video-recorded Dhamma talks from Luang Por in the 80s, which are now publicly available for viewing here.
Vesak at 10 Downing Street
On the full moon day of Visākha Pūjā, May 22nd, Ajahn Amaro was invited to the first ever Buddhist event at 10, Downing Street. It was a celebration of World Buddha Day, hosted by the Minister for Faiths and Communities, Baroness Scott of Bybrook OBE, and was organised by Ms Ajantha Tennakoon. The representatives of many Buddhist communities were present, including Ven. Seelawimala, Abbot of the London Buddhist Vihara, and several other monastics.
Ajahn Amaro was honoured to have been invited to offer a short talk about World Buddha Day on that occasion.
May all beings be at ease,
