The Amaravati monks’ community is currently in need of a male carer to provide care for an elderly monk who has Alzheimer’s Disease. The carer must have a recent DBS certificate, some relevant experience and be able to offer reliable, kind and effective care.
Ideally the carer will live in the monastery full-time as part of the community volunteering as a long-term lay resident and offering comprehensive care four days a week. He would spend most of the day (7.00am until 5.30pm) with the elderly monk, supervising and prompting with activities of daily living. He would assist with personal care requirements. A modest grant may be available from the Trust to support this.
