The Amaravati Monastic Community is seeking a compassionate and reliable male carer to support an elderly monk living with Alzheimer’s disease.
The successful applicant will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check, have relevant care experience, and demonstrate the ability to provide high-quality, person-centred care with kindness, patience, and professionalism.
The role involves working two days per week, for ten hours per day, from 7:00am to 8:30pm. Duties will include assisting with personal care and supporting activities of daily living. The carer will work as part of a team of three carers who provide support on the remaining days of the week and will be expected to maintain effective communication with colleagues, primarily via email.
Accommodation will be available within the monastery for the overnight stay between the two working days.
Following a satisfactory trial period, the successful applicant will be engaged on a self-employed basis by the English Sangha Trust.
Applicants must have the legal right to live and work in the UK on a long-term basis. This includes UK citizens, individuals with Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR), settled status, or a valid long-term visa.
