Vesākha Festival (Wesak) 2021 – Livestream

The monastery invites you to join our live stream on Visākha (Wesak) festival, also known as ‘Buddha Day’, on Sunday May 30.

This is the public celebration of the three key events in the Buddha’s life that are traditionally considered to have taken place on the full moon of May: his birth, awakening to full enlightenment under the bodhi tree at the age of thirty five, and his final passing away, parinibbāna, aged eighty.

The morning live stream will start at 11.00 am with taking precepts and Paritta chanting, this is 15 minutes earlier than usual recognising the festival with more chanting reflections. In the afternoon Luang Por Sumedho is planning to give a Dhamma Talk at 3.00 pm.
